Intergenerational Community Dialogue, What are the causes of child marriages & how can SRHR information help?
An Intergenerational Dialogue (IGD) was recently held in Nalugala, Entebbe, centred on empowering young women and discussing Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), aiming to reduce child marriages and early unions. The event brought together local leaders and successfully raised 1.3m shs for economic empowerment work, including vocational training and health projects.

Entebbe Municipality local leaders held round table talks on adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights (SRHR), reaching out to 14 leaders. Notable was Nagadyia Allen, a teenage mother turned successful businesswoman and youth leader. Allen uses her experience to motivate and educate others. The local Resilient Women’s Organization supports girls and young women in realizing their potential, regardless of challenging circumstances like early pregnancy. They also combat harmful traditional practices and injustices like child marriages and early unions.
